Garlic laccha paratha is a popular Indian flatbread made with wheat flour, garlic paste, and red chilli flakes. The dough is cut into strips, shaped into a roundel, and then rolled out flat.

This crispy, flaky paratha pairs perfectly with any Indian curry or dal. Here is how you can make it easily at home with just four simple steps.

1.5 cups wheat flour
2 tablespoons garlic paste
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon red chilli flakes

Mix the flour, garlic paste, & red chilli flakes together. Add the warm water and salt, then knead it into a soft dough. Let the dough rest for half an hour to make it easier to work with.

Roll the dough into a circle. Using a knife, cut small strips across the circle. Gather these strips together and shape them into a roundel again. Flatten it out gently.

Repeat the cutting and shaping process one more time. You will see layers beginning to form, which makes the paratha flaky and delicious.

Cook the shaped paratha on a hot pan with butter until it is golden brown and crispy on both sides. Serve hot with your favourite Indian curry or chutney.
