Kathal ke kebab is a well-known appetiser from Uttar Pradesh. A great substitute for chicken and mutton kebabs, this kebab is made with boiled chana, soft kethak chunks followed by aromatic seasonings.

Ingredients of Kathal Ke Kebab
- 500 gms Kathal (jackfruit)
- 1/2 cup Chana dal
- 4 Chopped green chillies
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1/2 tsp Roasted cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp Cinnamon powder
- 2 tsp Red chili powder
- 1/2 tsp Dry Mango powder
- 1/4 tsp Black salt
- to taste Salt
- To garnish Chopped coriander leaves
How to Make Kathal Ke Kebab

Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours and cut down the jackfruit into small chunks.

After soaking and cutting, boil dal and jackfruit together until more than 80% cooked.

Now blend them together along with ginger garlic paste and green chillies in a blender.

Add all the seasonings and spices mentioned in the ingredients list with chopped coriander leaves. Mix well by using your hands.

Make small and rounded kebabs and shallow fry them on a pan with heated oil.

Serve with yogurt, mint chutney and onion rings.
