Ingredients of One Pot Chhole Chawal

  • 1 Cup rice
  • 2 cups chana, boiled
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • Ginger, small piece
  • 4-5 garlic cloves
  • 2 green chillies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Coriander, for garnish, chopped

How to Make One Pot Chhole Chawal

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a pressure cooker and add jeera until it splutters.

Toss in green chillies, grated ginger, garlic, and chopped onion. Saute until the onion turns medium pink or light brown.

Add spices and stir for 30 seconds before mixing in the tomatoes. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add rice, boiled chickpeas, and 2 cups of water. Seal the pressure cooker and cook for one whistle. Your one-pot Chhole Chawal is ready.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and paneer. Serve with Greek yogurt raita made with grated cucumber and carrot.
