Ingredients of Samak Pulao
- 1 Samak rice
- 2 water
- 1 ghee (clarified butter)
- Cumin seeds (jeera)
- Green chillies, chopped
- Rock salt (sendha namak)
- Boiled and cubed potatoes
- peanuts, chopped
- Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish, finely chopped
How to Make Samak Pulao

Begin by washing the samak rice thoroughly and draining it.

In a pan, heat ghee over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and chopped green chillies, and sauté for a minute.

Add the washed samak rice and saute for a couple of minutes, ensuring the ghee coats the rice evenly.

Pour in the water, add a pinch of rock salt, and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, lower the heat, cover the pan, and let it simmer for about 15-20 minutes. The rice should absorb the water and become fluffy.

Now, gently mix in the boiled and cubed potatoes and chopped peanuts. Continue to cook for a few more minutes.

Your delicious samak pulao is ready. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot.
