Steamed tiger prawns tossed with some lemongrass, garlic and rock salt. Easy and quick, this dish is served with a delectable apple salsa.

Ingredients of Steamed Tiger Prawns
- Steaming the tiger prawns:
- 4-5 tiger prawns, de veined (With shell and head; to be taken off before eating)
- Salt, to taste
- 1 red Chilli
- 2-3 cloves garlic, crushed
- To stir fry tiger prawns:
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 5-6 Tbsp garlic, crushed
- 2-3 lemongrass shoots
- 1 chilli, slit lengthwise
- For the apple salsa:
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- Salt, to taste
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 Tbsp coriander leaves, chopped
- 1/2 tsp chillies, chopped
- Pepper, to taste
- 1 apple, peeled and chopped
- 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
How to Make Steamed Tiger Prawns
Steaming the tiger prawns:
1.
In a bowl combine the prawns with salt, garlic and chilli.

Steam them for about 5-10 minutes. The prawns must be de-veined but not de-shelled.

Do not dispose off the juices that are given out while steaming the prawns. They will be used in while stir frying.
To stir fry tiger prawns:
1.
In a wok add olive oil, garlic and steamed prawns. Toss. Add the water given out during steaming.
2.
Add lemongrass and chilli. Saute till the prawns are cooked.
For the apple salsa:
1.
Combine all the ingredients together to make the apple salsa.
2.
Serve with the stir fried prawns.
