Ingredients of Aloo Cheese Croquettes

  • 4 big potatoes, boiled
  • 1/2 cup chana dal
  • 1 onion, roughly chopped
  • 1-inch Ginger
  • 4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • 6-8 peppercorns
  • 2-inch cinnamon stick
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cheese cubes, grated
  • 1/2 cup cornflour
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg powder
  • 1/2 tsp pepper powder
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for deep frying

How to Make Aloo Cheese Croquettes

Wash and soak the chana dal for 2 hours.

Later, cook the dal with 1 cup of water and add the onion, green chillies, ginger, garlic, cumin, cinnamon and peppercorns. Cook till the water evaporates.

Then cool this mixture and grind it to get a coarse paste.

In a bowl, mash the boiled potatoes and then combine them with the paste prepared earlier. Mix in the grated cheese and add salt to taste.

Make a slurry by combining corn flour, milk, water, salt, nutmeg and pepper.

Make cylindrical shapes of the potato mixture. Roll each croquette in breadcrumbs, dip in cornflour slurry and again roll in breadcrumbs.
7.
Deep fry them until golden brown. Serve hot with a dip of your choice.
