Ingredients of Tofu Shawarmas
- 300 gms Tofu
- 4 tbsp Oil
- 2 nos Garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp Ground cumin
- 2 tbsp Coriander powder
- 2 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 2 tbsp Lemon juice
- 1 cup Vegan yoghurt
- 6 nos Multigrain wraps
- 1/2 cup Onions, sliced
- 1/2 cup Tomatoes, sliced
- 1/2 cup Cucumber
- 4-5 nos Lettuce leaves
How to Make Tofu Shawarmas

Take a bowl and add oil along with vegan yoghurt, finely chopped garlic, ground cumin, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt, and lemon juice and mix well. Once the marinade is ready, set it aside.

Cut the tofu into small pieces and put it in the marinade. Mix well so that all the ingredients are combined well. Allow the tofu to sit in the marinade for at least 45 minutes to an hour.

Take a pan and put some oil in it. Now add the marinated tofu pieces and cook until it's light brown and slightly crispy. This would take at least 20-25 minutes.

Warm up the multigrain wraps or rotis on a tawa. Add a spoonful of cooked tofu in the rotis and add sliced veggies – onions, tomatoes, cucumber, and lettuce – on top of it.

Wrap the multigrain roti along with other ingredients tightly. Cut it in half from between and place a toothpick in each to hold the ingredients. And it’s done! Serve with mint yoghurt chutney!
