Ingredients of Chana Dal Biryani
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 Bay leaf
- 1 tsp Jeera
- 3 Cardamoms
- 3 Cloves
- 2 inch Cinnamon stick
- 1 Star anise
- 1 Small mace
- 3 Green chillies, slit
- 1/4 cup Mint, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup Cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Garam masala
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric
- to taste Salt
- 1 cup Basmati rice
- 1/2 cup Chana dal
- 2 1/2 cup Water
How to Make Chana Dal Biryani

Wash and soak the dal for 45 minutes. Wash and soak the rice as well, but for 15-20 minutes only.

Place a pressure cooker on heat. Add the ghee and let it melt.

Next, add the bay leaf, cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, star anise, mace and slit green chillies.

Add mint, cilantro and fry all the herbs and spices. Season with garam masala, turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
5.
Add the soaked dal, rice and water. Pressure cook the biryani for one whistle. The biryani is ready!
