Ingredients of Egg Makhani

  • 4 Boiled eggs
  • 1 medium Onion (roughly chopped)
  • 2 small Tomatoes (roughly chopped)
  • 7-8 Cashews
  • 1 cup Cream
  • 1 tbsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • 3 Cardamoms
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 Peppercorns
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Red Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 3-4 tbsp Butter

How to Make Egg Makhani

Roast boiled eggs in some butter till slightly brown. Keep aside.

Heat oil in a pan, saute onions, tomatoes and cashews till brown. Grind with some water to make paste.

Heat butter and some oil in a separate pan, roast whole spices – cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, peppercorns and bay leaf. Add ginger-garlic paste, saute for a minute.

Add onion-tomato-cashews paste. Add salt, cumin powder and red chilli powder. Cook the paste till oil leaves the sides. After that add some water and boil for 5 minutes.

Add cream and cook for 5 minutes. Then, add roasted eggs and top with some more cream.

Serve hot with chapatis or rice. Enjoy!
