In the now-viral Instagram Reel, she begins by mixing some dahi or curd with water in a bowl to get a consistency which is neither too thick nor too runny. Then the tadka is prepared which involves heating a tablespoon of oil in a pan and adding cumin seeds, mustard seeds, hing (asafetida), red chillies, finely chopped garlic, and curry leaves. Thinly sliced onions, salt, turmeric, and red chilli powder are also added.

The tadka is cooked for 2-3 minutes before kasuri methi goes into it. Next, the dahi is mixed with the tadka and your delicious Himachali redu is ready. While you can have it with some steamed white rice, redu also goes great with makki (maize flour) ki roti. Once ready, serve the redu hot and fresh and don't forget to garnish it with coriander. Now, you are all set to make your weekend better with this dish.
