Ingredients of Cheese Garlic Toast (On Tawa)
- 4 bread slices
- 2-3 cheese cubes
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- ¼ tsp oregano or mixed herbs
- ¼ tsp chilli flakes
- ¼ tsp black pepper powder
How to Make Cheese Garlic Toast (On Tawa)

In a small bowl, combine 1 tbsp butter, chopped garlic and seasonings. Mix well.

Lightly toast one side of the bread slices on a heated tawa or pan.

Flip and spread the garlic butter on the toasted side. Add the remaining butter around the slices, to cook the other side as well. Note that the heat has to be on low flame throughout.

Grate a generous amount of cheese on top. Sprinkle the topped slices with black pepper.

Carefully cover the tawa with a dome-shaped or similar vessel (if you don’t have a dedicated cover for the pan). Ensure that the cover doesn’t touch the cheese topping.

Allow the slices to cook on the lowest flame for 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Gently lift the slice to check that the bottom part is not burning. Enjoy hot.
