BOO! Halloween is here and its time to entertain your guests with some spooky cookies. Shape them like Jack-o'-lanterns, witches hat, bats, ghosts or whatever you want.

Ingredients of Halloween Cookies
- For the templates:
- Thick paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- For the cookies:
- 1 1/2 cup maida / flour
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp nutmeg powder
- 1/2 cup softened butter (Use normally available butter. In case you are using unsalted butter add 1/2 tsp salt to the dough)
- 2 drops vanilla essence
- 2 Tbsp cold milk
- For the icing:
- 1 cup icing sugar
- 3-4 Tbsp milk
- 2 drops vanilla essence
- 1-2 drops food coloring, orange, yellow, purple ( According to the template you choose)
How to Make Halloween Cookies
1.
Make paper templates. Cut paper into shapes of ghost, tombstone, Jack-o'-lanterns, witches hat etc. Keep aside.
2.
In a bowl, mix together maida, powdered sugar, nutmeg powder.
3.
Add: Butter and vanilla essence.
4.
Knead the dough together with milk till it sticks together.
5.
Roll out the dough to a 1/2 cm thickness. With the prepared templates (Ghost, tombstone, Jack-o'-lanterns, witches hat etc.) cut out the cookie dough in different shapes with a butter knife.

Place on a greased baking tray and bake for 12-15 minutes at 180 degree C.

Let it cool for 10 minutes.
8.
Brush the cookies with some icing and serve.
For the Icing:
1.
In a bowl mix all the ingredients together to form a thick paste.
2.
NOTE: You can add food coloring according to your cookie theme. Orange if your cookies are shaped like pumpkins, purple/black for hats and bats and so on.
3.
Brush the cookies with this icing. It hardens on cooling.
4.
Serve.
