Ingredients of Khatta Meetha Dhokla

  • 1 cup Besan
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 2 tbsp Suji
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Sugar
  • Water (as required)
  • For tempering:
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • 3-4 Green Chillies
  • 5-6 Curry Leaves
  • 1 tsp Coriander Leaves
  • 1 1/2 tsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
  • A pinch of Asafoetida
  • Water (as required)

How to Make Khatta Meetha Dhokla

First, we need to prepare the dhokla batter. Add besan, turmeric powder, oil, yogurt, sugar, salt and water in a bowl. Combine everything together and keep it aside for 10-15 minutes.

Now, add baking soda to the batter. Mix well.

Pour the batter into a steamer and let it steam for 15-20 mins.

Next, we need to prepare the tempering. For this, heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and allow them to splutter. Add curry leaves, green chillies and asafoetida, sugar and water. Close the lid and switch off the flame.
5.
Pour this tempering over the dhoklas and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Khatta meetha dhokla is ready!
