Ingredients of Garadu Ki Chaat
- 500 gms garadu (yam)
- Oil, for frying
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp coriander seeds
- 1 tsp fennel seeds
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1-inch cinnamon stick
- 4 cloves
- 2 black cardamoms
- A pinch of asafoetida
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1.5 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp ginger powder
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
How to Make Garadu Ki Chaat

Dry roast all the masalas mentioned above except for the lemon juice. Once the dry roasting is complete and the spices have cooled down, blend them to make a powder.

Peel and cut the garadu into medium-sized cubes. Heat oil over medium flame.

Fry the pieces over medium flame until they turn light brown or are cooked from the inside.

Once done, remove them and allow the oil to heat up again.

Flash-fry them again for 30 seconds in hot oil. Sprinkle the spice mix and lemon juice, then serve.
