At 51, Mahesh Babu continues to surprise fans with his youthful appearance. While genetics may play a role, the actor's trainer has previously shared details of a structured diet and fitness routine that he follows year-round. So what exactly does a typical day on his plate look like?
His Day Starts With An Oats-And-Eggs 'Mush'
According to trainer Kumar Mannava, as told to news publication Times of India, Mahesh Babu eats five to six meals through the day, including two supplement shakes. His first meal is a preparation the trainer simply described as a "mush", made with oats, eggs, fruits and nuts.
After his workout, he has a shake. The rest of the day is built around a mix of protein, carbohydrates and fats rather than one particular diet trend. Mannava also said that the actor does not follow fad diets.

Chicken, Fish Or Lamb For Lunch
Lunch brings in a more substantial protein source. The options mentioned by Mannava include chicken, fish or lamb, paired with carbohydrates such as brown rice, quinoa or khus khus.
Dinner follows the same basic idea, with a protein and carbohydrate combination. One option mentioned by the trainer is brown or whole-wheat bread with eggs or chicken.
The five-to-six-meal structure, including the two shakes, was also reported in a later Times of India piece that revisited the actor's fitness routine.
Mahesh Babu Avoids Dairy, Bread And This One South-Indian Staple
His own comments about food give another interesting detail. In a 2022 Telugu interview with Eagle Media Works, Mahesh Babu was asked to choose between a pastry, a burger and curd rice. He said he does not eat any of the three. He explained that he avoids dairy and does not eat bread, which rules out the burger as well. He added that it had been a long time since he had eaten these foods, although he may have a sweet occasionally, and very rarely.
The actor has also spoken about eating foods such as idli, dosa and puri, saying that the focus should be on eating them in the right way rather than completely giving them up.
Fitness Is A Year-Round Routine
For Mahesh Babu, however, food is only one part of the equation. Mannava told The Times of India that Mahesh trains five days a week, with workouts focused on strength and flexibility. His sessions generally work on one body part at a time and are followed by stretching.

The trainer said the sessions can last up to 90 minutes and are not solely about building six-pack abs. Stretching is also given considerable attention, particularly because the actor has to perform stunts for his films.
