Review: Why Ditas, Mehrauli's Newest Resto-Bar Should Be On Your Gourmet Checklist Today
Coming to the food, European fare dominates the menu

Ditas is the latest entrant in Mehrauli's Ambavatta complex. With stunning white walls, mirror ceilings, royal blue upholstery, Moroccan flooring and mood lighting, Ditas makes for an exquisite new addition to its splendid neighbourhood. Located next to ace designer Manish Malhotra's apparel store, a tinge of gold dictates the decor here, exuding luxury. In addition to the spectacular interiors, Ditas also has outdoor seating in its courtyard overlooking the magnificent Qutub Minar.

Coming to the food, European fare dominates the menu, but you'll find some gourmet offerings from across the globe too. We started out with the truffle mushroom pate. The rich and dense mushroom pate, served with buttery baguette makes for an excellent entree. Next, we processed to the Jamaican flatbread or pizza. Fresh off the oven, the thin-crust pizza has Hawaiian-inspired toppings. Oodles of cheese, jerk grilled chicken, jalapeno, basil and pineapple jam- the toppings were eclectic and impressive.

The Nacho crusted fish and chips are ideal if you are looking for something crispy to munch in with your drinks. The five-spiced cheese meatballs were disappointing, both in terms of flavour and portion size. If you are looking to unwind with something healthy, you can try their mixed-berry smoothie bowl. Topped with a delish mix of chia seeds, blueberries and almonds, the smoothie bowl was pretty wholesome.

Spicy miso pork ramen

Moving on to the mains, while we were thoroughly impressed by options they had in the vegetarian section, we wish they were as expansive with their non-vegetarian options too. Anyway, we were lucky to pick the best of their offerings. We tried their vibrant and flavourful Mexican rice bowl. Tomato rice, guacamole, charred corn, mixed beans, pico de gallio topped with sour cream- the dish spells comfort. We also had their signature spicy miso pork ramen bowl, and were bowled over by the umami broth. It was soothing and the pork was perfectly done. The ramen bowl also comprised the goodness of shiitake mushrooms, sweet corns, sliced chillies and julienned carrots. If you are not in a mood to experiment, you can go for the cherry tomato penne arrabiata.

YOU MUST NOT miss the desserts here, no matter how full you are. We tried Ditas signature hot chocolate. The different textures of chocolate, with butterscotch ice-cream make for a delightful juxtaposition.
