Chicken Shahjahani is a rich and creamy chicken curry that doesn’t require a lot of effort and turns out heavenly. Make this royal chicken curry almost under an hour and enjoy with buttered garlic naans or hot fluffy rice.

Ingredients of Chicken Shahjahani
- 750 gms Chicken
- 1/2 cup Cream
- 1 cup Sliced onions
- 1 tbsp Poppy Seeds
- 1 tbsp Muskmelon seeds
- 10-12 Cashew Nuts
- 4 tbsp Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Ghee
- 2 tsp oil
- 2 Bay Leaf
- 5-6 Cloves
- 2-4 Green Cardamom
- 1 Black Cardamom
- 1 tsp Red chilly powder
- Salt as required
How to Make Chicken Shahjahani

In a bowl of warm water soak poppy seeds, muskmelon seeds and cashews for 10-15 minutes. After which make a paste out of them.

In a pan add the ghee and oil, add all the whole spices and onions and fry until onions are translucent.

Remove from heat and let this cook before making a fine paste out of this as well.

Now in the same pan, add ginger garlic paste and let it cook until the raw smell is gone.

Now add the paste made out of seeds and onion paste to this. Make sure to keep stirring to save the masala from burning.

Now add red chilly powder, haldi, salt and mix well. Add some water if required.

Add the chicken and let that cook for 5 mins.
8.
Now add curd and some water and cook for another 5 minutes.
9.
Sprinkle some kewda water (Optional) and garam masala and cook for another 10 mins.

Serve with rice and enjoy!
