Special occasion mutton curried with yoghurt, tomatoes and saffron

Ingredients of Chinioti Mutton Machhli
- 10 pcs lamb shank (mutton machhli), whole - 6 inches
- 200g desi ghee
- 2 tbsp ginger, chopped
- 1-1/2 tsp garlic, chopped
- 100g spring onions
- 4 tomatoes
- 3 green chillies, chopped
- 1 tsp onion seeds
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 tbsp red chilli, crushed
- salt to taste
- 1 tsp dry ginger powder
- 1 tsp (heaped) saffron
- 1 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 bunch coriander, chopped
- 2 tbsp mint, chopped
How to Make Chinioti Mutton Machhli

Wash lamb shanks.

In desi ghee, saute ginger, garlic, spring onions, tomatoes and green chillies.

Put mutton machhli and then add the spices except dry ginger, saffron and yogurt.
4.
Saute it for 10 minutes and then add water. Then let it simmer for 25-30 minutes.
5.
Then add the remaining ingredients and cook it again for 10-15 minutes.
6.
Garnish with coriander and mint. Serve hot with naan.
