Kung Pao Paneer recipe: Kung Pao Paneer is a quick and spicy indulgence. Pieces of paneer are coated with a mix of sauces and tossed with peanuts, cashews and veggies to make this flavourful dish. It can be enjoyed as an appetiser, but also as a thick gravy that can be paired with fried rice or noodles.

Ingredients of Kung Pao Paneer
- 250 gms paneer
- 2 tbsp sesame or vegetable oil
- 10-12 cashew nuts, chopped
- 1 tbsp dark soya sauce
- 1 tbsp chilli sauce
- 1 tbsp cornflour
- 1-2 tbsp cornflour slurry
- 1 tbsp garlic , chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
- 3 dried red chillies
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup capsicum, chopped
- 1/4 cup peanuts
- 1 tsp sugar
- Black pepper and Salt to taste
- Chopped spring onion greens for garnish
How to Make Kung Pao Paneer

Cut the paneer into medium-sized cubes and toss them with cornflour, salt, pepper and chilli powder.

Heat a little oil in a pan and stir-fry the paneer cubes until golden. Transfer the cubes to a bowl.

In the same pan, heat more oil and saute the chopped garlic in it. Once browned, add ginger, onions and red chillies. Saute well.

Once the onions turn translucent, add the capsicum to the pan. Later add the chilli sauce, soy sauce, cornflour slurry, sugar, peanuts and cashew nuts.

Cook all the ingredients for around 3 minutes. Then add the shallow-fried paneer cubes and mix well.

Ensure that the sauce coats the paneer well. Taste to adjust salt and spice level.
7.
Top the Kung Pao Paneer with spring onion greens, mix slightly and serve hot.
