Ingredients of Mushroom Vol Au Vent

  • 80 Gram Mushroom mix (button, wood ear and shiitake)
  • 1 tsp Garlic , chopped
  • 1 tbsp Onion, chopped
  • 5 gram Butter
  • 5 ml Olive oil
  • 2 sprigs Thyme
  • 5 ml Berry jam
  • 1 Vol au vent shell (6 inches)
  • 40 ml Cream
  • to taste Sea salt
  • to taste Black pepper (crushed)

How to Make Mushroom Vol Au Vent

1.
Add oil and butter to the a medium heat pan.

Add onion followed by garlic. Let it flutter.
3.
Add medium diced mushrooms.
4.
Add salt and pepper.
5.
Let the mushroom get medium soft.
6.
Add a little water and cream followed by fresh thyme.
7.
Cook till it gets a silky pale colour and the mushrooms are done.
8.
Open the vol au vent shell and put it in the oven for a minute for it to crisp.
9.
Brush some berry jam at the base of the vol au vent.
10.
Add the the mushroom mix to the empty vol au vent shell.
11.
Finish with a whole sprig for thyme and some jam on the the top .
12.
Serve hot.
