How to Make Samosa Sticks
1.
In a pan, heat two tablespoons of oil. Now add cumin and mustard and allow them to splutter. Once they do, add chopped onions, chopped green chillies, and grated ginger to the pan and cook them till they become translucent.
2.
Now add spices to the pan – turmeric powder, dry mango powder, coriander powder, hing, and garam masala. Mix them well. Once the mix becomes aromatic, add mashed potatoes and peas to the pan. Season it with salt and black pepper and combine all the ingredients so that the potato mixture becomes dark yellow in colour.
3.
Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for another 5-8 minutes. Turn off the burner and let the mixture cool off completely.
4.
Now take a samosa sheet and lay it on a clean surface. If the sheet is too big, cut into 3-inch-wide strips.
5.
Take a small amount of potato filling and place it on the strip’s one end. Roll it tightly into the shape of a cone and seal its edges with the maida slurry. Make sure not to overfill the samosas. Repeat the process with other sheets as well. Set them aside.
6.
Now take the wooden sticks and gently insert them into the bottom half of the rolled samosas. If the sticks are broader than the samosas, break them into two halves vertically.
7.
Now take a deep pan and heat oil in it. Once the oil is hot, carefully place the samosa sticks in it. Make sure not to put all the samosas in together but in batches. Deep fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy.
8.
Remove them from oil and place them on kitchen napkins to absorb the extra oil. And voila! Your samosa sticks are ready to serve!
