Gurgaon is coming up in a big way. New buildings, new roads, new flyovers, and new restaurants - the city has something new to offer every day. Joining the slew of restaurants that rivet the attention of the discerning eaters of Delhi/NCR, Madam Gusto opened its doors recently. Madam Gusto - a kitchen and bar - is an idealistic interpretation of the culinary and travel experiences of its Curator and Founder Sonia Puri. It brings on the table a great bouquet of global favourites which is consistently evolving, giving its patrons an opportunity to taste the world delicacies prepared from freshly sourced ingredients.
Madam Gusto retains the old-world charm of the bygone era with a tinge of the contemporary vibe. The restaurant promises its patrons an all-immersive experience of international cuisines from across the globe. The eclectic food space serves some delectable dishes extending from European delicacies to Asian delights along with other Nouvelle cuisines.
Sonia Puri, a culinary artist, crafted the menu and also offers a provision to make new additions by incorporating the stories of the culinary sojourns of a region submitted by travellers in their menu, along with their names for a designated period of time.
One you enter the restaurant, the expansive bar area is hard to miss. The interiors are tastefully done and instantly charge up your spirits. We started the night with some refreshing cocktails and their Basil and Cucumber With Gin gave a heady start to our long gastronomical journey.
For the starters, we tried Chilli Garlic Veg Dimsums, which was like your regular dimsums you are used to eating. Next, we went for Salmon and Cucumber Rolls, which simply blew away our mind. It was fresh and perfectly crunchy on the outside while being soft and mushy inside. Dahi ke Sholey was another interesting snack that we tried. Fried dumpling suffused with sweet plus sour stuffing of yogurt and veggies made for a flavourful eat. Chicken Sumai dimsums should also be there in your order list.
Minced Chicken, Fresh Chilli And Lemongrass Skewers popped on lemongrass sticks and dipped in rice and soya vinegar is just what we expected it to be - herby and refreshing. The flavours of lemongrass completely imbued in each and every chicken piece. Their wonton menu is quite diverse and you'll be spoilt for choice.
For the mains, definitely try their chicken Khao Suey. Chicken and veggies dunked in milky coconut-based soup, made for a perfect dish. We also tried peri peri chicken, but you can give it a miss. We felt the chicken could have been juicer and more tender.
The desserts were to die for. Walnut Pie with Vanilla Gelato gave a super sweet ending to our meal. This one is a must-try. All in all, you are in for a good time over some tantalising cocktails and good food at Madam Gusto. Make a plan with your gang and pick this place for your outing.
