Noida Authority to Install 25 Water ATMs in June

What comes as great news for those suffering the effects of the heat wave in the capital and its suburbs, the Noida Authority has decided to install water ATMS (mobile water dispensing machines) across busy public places starting from June onwards.With the temperatures soaring beyond tolerable limits in Delhi, the need to keep oneself hydrated is a necessity in order to avoid a heat stroke. This move sets an example to the rest of the areas in Delhi, and the country, to follow suit. Save for the privileged classes, clean drinking water availability is a great public concern.The water dispensers, called WOW - 'Water On Wheels', will give you access to filtered water at Rs.5 per litre and Rs.2 per 250ml. One can pay with cash, or use a prepaid card that can be recharged anytime. A mobile app is also planned for the same.The smart dispensers will also have an inbuilt system to constantly evaluate the quality of water. If at any time, the quality seems suspect, the dispenser will automatically switch off. So there will be no chance of consuming unhygienic water.The machines are solar powered and purify water using reverse osmosis. Each dispenser will have capacity to hold 300 liters of water at a given point in time. Paper glasses will be available but people can also carry their own bottle to refill in case they more than 250ml of water. A small step, but an important one, in the direction of providing basic amenities to the common man in his hour of need.
