Food trends have a way of captivating us, and the latest viral sensation is no exception. A bread bouquet crafted entirely from sourdough and shaped like fresh flowers has left the internet in awe. This stunning creation was shared on Instagram by Katrina Niesen, a sourdough artist from Carlsbad, California, whose unique twist on baking has grabbed worldwide attention.
Katrina, known for blending design with her love for sourdough art, has crafted a masterpiece that's both visually and gastronomically delightful. Each bread piece in the bouquet is intricately shaped into flowers like Tulips, Orchids, Tiger Lilies, Roses, and more, including exotic blooms like Blue Lotuses and Poinsettias. The result? A collection of loaves that look more like a garden than something edible.
In her Instagram video, Katrina-who transitioned from being a chef to a content creator-is seen slicing the bread to reveal its soft, fluffy interior beneath a golden, crisp crust. She captioned the post, "Flowers were voted as the favourite for my sourdough bread bakes in my last post, so I thought I'd share a few more. I'm always inspired by beautiful blooms."
The video has amassed over 1.6 million views and counting on Instagram.
Social media users are floored by Katrina's artistry.
"The only flowers I want for Valentine's Day," said one user. Another commented, "I've never seen more artistic loaves."
Some were reluctant to imagine eating such beautiful creations. "Nobody should eat these breads. Just watch them and hang up on the wall," one person suggested. Another user wrote, "They need to be in museums or auctioned for millions."
