Bohra Gol Paani Recipe:This jaggery water drink is especially popular during Ramadan. However, it is a great way to stay hydrated and energised throughout the summer. Made using simple and cooling ingredients, this traditional drink is delicious as well as healthy.

Ingredients of Bohra Gol Paani

  • 2-3 cups jaggery (cubes or grated)
  • 1 litre water
  • 2 tbsp sabja (sweet basil) seeds, soaked
  • 3-4 tbsp lemon juice
  • Mint leaves for garnish

How to Make Bohra Gol Paani

Add the jaggery to a large vessel and cover it completely with water. Set aside for around 5 hours or until the jaggery completely dissolves.

Soak sabja seeds in water just before preparing the drink.

Pour the jaggery water into a jar and add the lemon juice and sabja seeds (once they swell and become sticky).

Mix well and refrigerate the drink to cool. Garnish the gol paani with mint leaves and serve cold.
