Ingredients of Jhol Veg Momos
- For dough:
- 2 cup Maida
- 10 gram Oil
- 5 gram Salt
- 2 cups Water
- For Stuffing:
- 1 Onion
- 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 cup Cabbage
- 1 Carrot
- ¼ cup Spring Onion
- ⅕ cup Coriander leaves
- 50 gram Butter
- Jhol
- Sesame seeds 1/4 cup fine paste
- 1 tbsp Cumin powder
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 2 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Tomato
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp Lemon juice
How to Make Jhol Veg Momos

For the dough:

In a mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of Maida (all-purpose flour), 10 gm of oil, and 5 gm of salt.Gradually add 2 cups of water and knead the mixture until you get a smooth and pliable dough.Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
For the stuffing:

Finely chop 1 onion, grate 1 carrot, and thinly slice 2 cups of cabbage.

Heat 50 gm of butter in a pan and add 1 tsp of ginger garlic paste. Sauté for a minute. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.

Stir in the grated carrot, sliced cabbage, ¼ cup of spring onion, and ⅕ cup of coriander leaves. Cook for a few minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.

Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool.
For assembling:
1.
Take a small portion of the dough and roll it into a thin, circular sheet.
2.
Place a spoonful of the prepared vegetable stuffing in the center of the dough.
3.
Fold the edges of the dough to form a pleated pattern, sealing the stuffing inside.
4.
Repeat the process for the remaining dough and stuffing.
For the Jhol (gravy):
1.
In a blender, make a fine paste of 1/4 cup of sesame seeds.

Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan and add 2 cloves of crushed garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
3.
Add 1 cup of tomato puree, 1 tbsp of cumin powder, 1/2 tsp of turmeric, and salt to taste. Cook the mixture for a few minutes.
4.
Finish with a squeeze of lemon juice and adjust the seasoning according to your taste.
Serve:
1.
Steam the assembled momos in a steamer until cooked.
2.
Serve the steamed momos hot with the prepared jhol on the side.
3.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and enjoy the delicious jhol momos
