Ingredients of Toovar Dal
- 1/2 cup Toovar Dal
- 2 cups Water
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 4 tbsp Tomato (chopped)
- 4 tbsp Onion (chopped)
- 3 Garlic Cloves (crushed)
- 1/4 tsp Jeera
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
- A pinch of Asafoetida
- to taste Salt
- to taste Chilli Powder
How to Make Toovar Dal

Wash and soak the toovar dal in water for half an hour. Add water to the toovar dal and cook in a pressure cooker till well cooked.

In a non-stick vessel, heat the oil. Add garlic, jeera, turmeric powder, asafoetida, tomato, and onions. Cook for 1-2 minutes.

Add the toovar dal, salt and chilli powder to taste. Blend the mixture well. Cook for 2 minutes.
4.
Serve hot along with rice, roti and vegetable of your choice.
