With a plethora of restaurants and cafes in Delhi offering menus that seem to cover cuisines from across the globe, Delhi can easily be called India's culinary capital. While the capital is home to a wide range of Chinese restaurants, one of the restaurants that stands out for its unique offering is ChaoBella. Located at Crowne Plaza Okhla, New Delhi, Chaobella is a dual restaurant in Delhi that offers Chinese and Italian cuisines under one roof. The restaurant features classy decor with low lighting, a brown hue interior and an al-fresco setting that oozes a luxurious yet cosy dining vibe.
We recently visited the restaurant to sample its new menu and were impressed by some of the dishes. A few of the signature dishes from the new menu included 'Melange of Mushroom', 'Water Chestnut & Asparagus Dimsum', 'Insalata Caprese', 'Prosciutto di Parma' and more.
Food At ChaoBella
We started off with 'Amuche Bouche' - goat cheese panna cotta and cranberry jelly served with honey garlic sauce. Served on a soup spoon, it looked quite fancy and just melted right inside our mouths.
We tried a wide range of Dimsums like 'Prawn Hargao', 'Jiaozi Chicken', 'Gyoza Chicken', 'Chicken Siu Mai', 'Vegetables and Crystal Chives', 'Water Chestnut and Asparagus', and more. We recommend 'Jiaozi Chicken' and 'Chicken Siu Mai' as we think it offers the right flavours that will suit the Indian palate. And if you are someone who fancies seafood, the 'Prawn Hargao' is a must-try! Additionally, the dips served along with the dimsums complimented the overall package. Another seafood dish that we thoroughly enjoyed was 'Prawn Thukpa'. With the right blend of spices similar to ramen, this soup is the ultimate comfort food at its finest. Apart from this, we found the 'Yang Chow Fried Rice' to be quite regular. In fact, 'Silken Tofu in Hunan Sauce Signature' also failed to delight us but if you enjoy tofu, you may try it.
From the Italian menu, we tried 'Insalata Caprese' with a cheese balloon. Although the dish looked quite appealing, the taste was quite normal. There's something on the table for health-conscious ones as well - the 'Quinoa Salad with Asparagus and Pickled Bell Peppers'. The pickled bell pepper was delightful and gets a thumbs up! Next, we tried the classic margarita pizza - as they say, you can't go wrong with the classics - it deems fit here too.
The showstopper of this foodie expedition was the 'Melting Chocolate Moment with Fried Ice Cream and Orange Crumble Signature'. We absolutely loved the way the chocolate dome melted to reveal an orange crumble that itself held vanilla ice cream hidden inside. So, if you have a sweet tooth, we highly recommend this dessert.
