Nestled on the bustling street of Hudson Lane near the north campus of Delhi University, is Echoes. Standing tall with beautiful large windows, flowy curtains, vintage seating, brick walls and countless frames, Echoes with a warm vibe isn't just a regular cafe but much more. With a heart-warming concept and a mouth-watering menu, Echoes knows how to stand out in the crowd. Brainchild of a group of six friends, the café employs people with hearing and speech impairment. Started in 2015, Echoes opened its first outlet in Satyaniketan and hasn't looked back since then with four outlets across three cities and more in the pipeline.
Café Ambience
Spread across two floors, Echoes has an expansive seating area, with a bulb buzzer at every table and a fun placard book for every other need such as spoon or forks, water, bill, etc., which makes it easier for the people to interact with the server. The primary motive of the cafe is to work towards a sincere cause of equal opportunities for everyone. Hence, the cafe recruits its workforce from deaf and dumb schools and NGOs all across. "Listen with your eyes and talk with your hands" is the mantra that drives the aura of this place. The bright and huge cubes with sign language, alphabets and numbers, hanging on the walls just ease the process of conversing with the staff.
Food And Drinks
Echoes launched a new monsoon menu in all their Delhi outlets - 'Monsoon & Mor', giving us another reason to go back and dine there. The new menu at the café, unlike the regular menu, isn't too expansive, yet it gives all the monsoon cravings high five with dishes such as Bun Maska and Chole Bhature paired with drinks like Aam panna and Strawberry fizzy wizzy. Besides this, we couldn't hold ourselves back from trying the regular dishes as well from their regulau menu that has everything from American, Italian and Continental to Indo-Chinese and much more.

We tried the Mediterranean hummus and pita, which was a delightful one to start off the meal. We moved on to Delhi's favourite street food that is momos. We tried chicken tandoori and chicken malai momos, and we are definitely going back for the tandoori ones! In the mains, chicken pizza and barbecue chicken lasagne completely lured us with the layers of cheese and chicken, laced with yummy pasta sheets. Oh did we mention how divinely refreshing was the cold coffee? It gets thumbs up from us!
Often crowded with the college students thronging the place mainly because of the student-friendly prices and menu, it can get little difficult to find a spot for yourself. And why not, with an earnest effort to build an environment that includes all with no bias along with serving piquant menu, needs a sure shot try. So, we suggest you to have an ample amount of time and appetite when you visit Echoes because it isn't just about the delectable food and inviting ambiance but more about the warm, cheerful and optimistic people serving you with a smile.
