The process begins by lighting up the gas and heating a pan or kadhai on the flame. Then oil is poured into the pan. The oil is heated until it begins to crackle. For tempering, half a spoon of cumin is added to the oil. This is followed by a spoonful of mustard seeds. As soon as the seeds begin to crackle, add chopped green chillies to the oil. Next, fresh curry leaves go into the pan.
An ingredient that closely resembled jaggery is added to the tempering. The ingredients are mixed well. Next in line is chopped onions. These are fried in the spices for quite some time. At this point, Diljit Dosanjh and his co-chef add turmeric powder to the dish. A dish of poha is incomplete without the crunchiness of peanuts. So, the celebrity and his friend add roasted peanuts to the dish after frying the onions well.
Now, the main ingredient goes into the pan: poha or flattened rice.
Then we can see him covering and cooking the poha for some time. Finally, he garnished the dish with lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves.
