As the world is grappling with the Coronavirus outbreak, India is under a complete lockdown with only essential services available. And, with almost everything shut across the country and all of us staying home, there must be a number of things that we must be missing. From our favourite coffee shop to the street foods and the momo stall right across the street, how we miss gorging on all of them! But, what if you could make your favourite momos right inside your kitchen?
The dumpling delicacy is a rage across the nation, especially in Delhi where one can find a momo stall or a van on every second street. And to add to that, several cafes and restaurants started to cash on it by giving their own innovative spin to the north-eastern delicacy. While we would love to gorge on tandoori momos, fried momos, chilli or chocolate momos, the classic steamed vegetable momos would still remain our go-to pick. Since, you can't go to your favourite momo point to nosh on the juicy vegetable momos, we've got a momo recipe for you so you can cook up the delightful dish at home.

Vegetable momos are probably one of the easiest to cook at home. With a wholesome stuffing of crunchy veggies such as carrots, cabbage and onion along with garlic, vinegar, soy sauce and pepper, this dumpling recipe makes for a perfect evening snack. The stuffing is packed in a thin layer of maida, salt and baking powder and is steamed until cooked. You can steam the momos in an idli steamer as well if you do not have the regular steamer at home.
Momo is also a versatile dish with which you can experiment with both the stuffing as well as the outer layer. Instead of vegetables, one can even stuff cottage cheese and if you want to relish non-vegetarian momos, simply stuff it with juicy and succulent minced chicken or mutton. If you don't wish to use all-purpose flour or maida, prepare the outer covering with whole wheat flour.
