ROOH X Naushy Mirza
ROOH, the Indian restaurant in Mehrauli we all love is holding a pop-up that you just can't resist. Curated by Naushy Tareen, the restaurant has brought the flavours of Lucknow and Old Delhi to us in a delectable 7-course meal infused with the love and comfort of home-style cooking. The set menu has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options bejewelled with the gems of Lucknowi cuisine. The familiar flavours of Old Delhi take the experience to a whole new level. The feast starts with an Amuse Bouch that is an ‘explosion of flavours of watermelon and mango. And the marathon of one mouthwatering dish after another transports you to the bylanes of Lucknow and Old Delhi.
The vegetarian menu presents lauki galouti with warqi paratha that even non-vegetarians would love and hara bhara kebab with poori – a combination that will surprise and amuse you at the same time. Shahi paneer in roghni taco, a platter of paneer qorma with dal and arbi curry served with sheermal, tandoori rotis, and finally a plate of kathal biryani – all culminate into a fulfilling and heart-warming meal.
The non-vegetarians have a drool-worthy meal lined up with classics like galouti kebab and shami kebab with poori – this combo meal is just not to be missed. The unique mutton pasand enclosed in a taco is also too delicious to miss. The main meal of chicken qorma, chicken stew and mutton hari mirch keema with rotis is a delightful plate that will take your taste buds on a meaty ride. Mutton yakhni pulao after that will continue keeping your heart and stomach happy.
Although we vote for the non-vegetarian menu, vegetarians too will have a great experience with this lavish meal. Don't forget to try the desserts – shahi tukda and Zafrani phirni – as they are simply mind-blowing.
