Guinness World Record (GWR) is known for capturing some of the most bizarre moments in food history! From chefs making the largest chicken nugget in the world to a woman breaking the record of eating the most number of jam doughnuts in 3 minutes - as absurd as these records sound they are proven true! Food is no longer just a means of sustenance and survival! It has also become an expression of creativity, emotion and passion. Recently, another world record was set in the field of food and this time it is something quite unique and intriguing! A farmer in the United Kingdom has managed to grow the longest cucumber in the world. Don't believe us?! Take a look yourself:

The man to be given credit for this record-breaking achievement is Sebastian Suski, an amateur gardener living in Southampton, UK. The longest cucumber is a specimen of Cucumis sativus and it was growing in a polytunnel at his allotment. While the heat waves in the UK had a harsh impact on farm-grown produce, Sebastian has managed to nurture his crops and produce the longest cucumber, measuring to be 113.4 centimetres long. Sebastian Suski's cucumber broke the previous world record by 6.2 centimetres.

This is not the only vegetable that has broken the world record! Last year at the Giant Vegetable Championship, a series of vegetables made fame due to their unique size. An eggplant weighing 3.12 kilograms broke the record for being the heaviest eggplant. That's not all, a 136-centimetre leek took the title of longest leek. The leek had been deemed to be "almost tall enough to ride rollercoasters".
