Restaurant signs play a crucial role in the marketing of a restaurant. The sign outside a restaurant is usually the first thing that a potential customer sees and decides whether they would like to visit that place. Restaurants that have well-designed and eye-catching signs can capture the attention of people and entice them to come in and try the food. However, a restaurant in Ohio, United States, is making use of its sign board in quite a creative way. The restaurant has hung signs outside of its businesses advertising to hire reliable employees.

According to WBNS, the signs were hung outside of Santino's Pizzeria in Columbus a few months ago that read "Now Hiring Non-Stupid People". However, it wasn't until this last week that someone posted a photo of it on social media, that the restaurant started gaining a lot of attention. Paul Robbins, drove from Hilliard to check out the shop after seeing the sign. "I thought it was funny, I didn't think it was offensive at all, and so, that made me really curious about this pizza place, so that made me decide to come in and check it out," Robbins told WBNS. However, some people couldn't find the humour in the message on social media. One person wrote, "It's not offensive, just extremely unprofessional. Not a place I would go to."

A third person commented, "That pizza is garbage. They need to fix what they serve before blaming the people they hire. The audacity LOL."

The store's manager, Heather Stockton, said that the signs were initially intended as a joke as the business had experienced issues with no-shows and people not taking the job seriously. "It was all supposed to be a joke. Nothing serious, it was just more of the fact, we kept having an applicant, we'd train them and they'd just walk out," said Stockton. She further added that she is looking for workers that are "just reliable, on time, just, don't come to work in like sandals."

Stockton expressed how she hopes that those who found the sign offensive will still come in to try their food. "Instead of judging our signs, why don't you come to judge our pizzas? Our pizzas are really good," she said.
