Review: Delhi Is Lounging At WE Qutub, Their New Menu Is One Of The Many Reasons Why!

Delhi has no dearth of plush lounges and bars; one of the latest entrants to the scene is WE. Located at the Qutub hotel, this swanky outlet is ideal for evenings where you want to unwind with a glass of cocktail and some yummy finger food. Dressed in hues of gold and ruby red, WE's tasteful décor aptly complements the gourmet offerings at the restaurant. The menu may not be very extensive, but it packs a number of classics and innovative delicacies to catch your fancy. Here's our take on some of the dishes that we tried.

We were blown over by the Rosemary truffle fries. Crispy potato fries, tossed in truffle oil and served with a topping of shredded parmesan and rosemary. We loved the fries so much that we kept them with us until the desserts arrived. Next on our table were the crispy duck rolls. The rolls were stuffed with pulled duck. What intrigued us here was how they attempted to do away with the characteristic ‘sweet' taste of the duck and gave it a slightly spicy spin. The appetiser was served with a chilli jam. Next in line were the chicken scallion dim sums. The pan-fried dim sums were moderately-sized and generously filled. Post the dim sums, we moved on to the spicy tuna sushi. They have to be some of the softest sushis we have ever tried!

The platter consisting of eight sushis was served with the standard sides of wasabi and pickled ginger. The spicy tuna filling was immaculately done; a burst of flavours that would stay with you long after you have left the place. We were not so impressed by the chicken cookie slider. It was tough to eat and bite into. Also, the cookie was too thick to cut. We liked the eight-spiced chicken with teriyaki glaze that was sandwiched in between the cookies, but we'd rather have them as a stand-alone snack, and maybe keep the cookies away.

Moving on to the mains, we tried their ramen bowl. Wholesome and fresh, the ramen impresses on many accounts. We loved how the veggies retain their colour and crunch. The broth is soothing; however, we wish it was slightly more layered in terms of flavour. The pork belly was smoky and well-cooked. It was also easy to cut into.

For desserts, we tried their signature WE chocolate cookie dough skillet. Fresh and piping hot choco-chip cookie batter served on a skillet and served with lush chocolate sauce. The dessert is likeable; however, the moment cookie begins to cool down a bit, it becomes crumbly and hard.
