We Indians love our street food, don't we? Recently, Kanak Khathuria, a finalist in Season 1 of MasterChef India, enjoyed an amazing vacation in Srinagar. Naturally, she explored the local street food scene in Kashmir. Kanak shared a video of herself on Instagram, which has gone viral for more than one reason. In the clip, she can be seen relishing the delicious mushroom tikka amidst the picturesque Dal Lake. Sitting on a shikara in the middle of the lake, she waves to a vendor on another boat. As the vendor brings his boat parallel to Kanak's shikara, she can be heard asking, "Bhaiya, kya kya hai? [What do you have]?" To which, he responds with options like paneer and mushrooms for vegetarians and fish for non-vegetarians.
Next, the video shows the vendor preparing two skewers of already-marinated mushroom tikka on a mini tandoor kept on his boat. While the tikka is being prepared, we can also hear other vendors selling Kashmir's famous drink, kahwa. In a few minutes, the tikkas are done, and the vendor serves them on a disposable plate with a few toothpicks. But wait, there's more. On a different disposable plate, the vendor can be seen serving two different types of chutneys. Kanak Khathuria's expression after a bite reveals that she loved the dish. The text on the clip reads, "Garma garam mushroom tikka at Dal Lake." Sharing the video, Kanak wrote, "Enjoying the street food of Kashmir." Take a look:

In no time, the comments section was filled with many praising the street food. A few users appreciated the hygiene maintained by the vendor on the boat. One user said, "Kashmiri street food is much more hygienic than in other states of India." Another praised the beauty of the location, saying, "When you have such a sight, your belly feels full, to be honest. I've never felt hungry in a shikara, but I always buy to support them financially a little bit." Another comment read, "Try Kashmiri street food in Lavasa... it's really good." Yet another user asked, "I'm curious about the price, how much did it cost?"
