Indians' love for Asian fare is undeniable and timeless. While we have always loved dishes like noodles and Dim Sums, there is now plenty of room for experimentation as well. Sushi, ramen, Baos and Mochi are too slowly making their way to our favourite dishes. Pa Pa Ya, a modern Asian Bistro, has long been known as an excellent brand for pan-Asian offerings served in a super innovative presentation. We recently visited their new outlet in Select Citywalk, Saket to tingle our tastebuds with the myriad pan-Asian flavours.
Located in the middle of the action on the second floor, the vibrant interiors feature Cherry Blossom trees on the roof complemented by some elegant lighting. A reservation in advance may prove to be useful, especially during rush hours on weekends when the outlet is completely packed. The expansive menu At Pa Pa Ya represents influences from Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, China, Japan, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia and Singapore, among others. Trust us, you will be spoilt for choice!
We started off our meal with the Vegan Tantanmen Ramen, a comforting broth packed with noodles and veggies. The Rainbow Roll from the Sushi Maki Rolls section was indeed enjoyable, filled with assorted vegetables and cream cheese and paired with pungent wasabi and pickled ginger. The Asparagus and Burnt Spring Onion Dim Sums was another surprisingly delicious item on the menu.

Sushi and Dim Sum is not Pa Pa Ya has - there also an extensive Tapas section to whet your appetite. If you would like to have something different, we highly recommend the Open Lotus Flour Edamame Bun - a soft Bao filled with a crunchy fritter and topped with an interesting selection of sauces. We also tried the Crispy Lotus Stem which was sweet, spicy and came with a quirky presentation.
Coming to the main course, we tried the Yaki Udon Noodles along with the Wok-Tossed Seasonal Vegetables in Mala Sauce. While the noodles were quite simple and comforting, the vegetables got a fiery twist thanks to the unique sauce.
Those with a sweet tooth would surely relish the Chocolate Ball On Fire. You can choose from a chocolate sauce or an alcohol-based flambee for the dish that will surely bring your meal to a happy and sweet end. So, sample the diverse and eclectic cuisines of Asia at Pa Pa Ya and trust us, it will be a meal to remember!
