Poop café, really? It is disgusting to even picture delicious food and defecation together. Talk about imagination going wild! When Lien Nguyen visited her mother in Taiwan a couple of years back, she visited a toilet-themed restaurant there. "I just loved it. It's funny to put food and poop together; it's a great comparison," she noted. Inspired by the idea she is now all set to open her own dessert café at Koreatown, Canada this month.Reportedly, the Poop Cafe Dessert Bar will exhibit an all brown menu with delicacies served in the shape of human stool."I'm trying to make poop cute. The idea stayed in my mind for a long time. As soon as I finished school, I said, OK, I'm going to bring the restaurant to Toronto," she said. The recent George Brown College graduate has earned her credentials in culinary management. She plans to focus her menu around traditional Asian desserts like patbingsoo (red beans with ice) and is hoping that, through this enterprise, "people will change their minds about poop," she concluded. While Canada is soon to get its first such restaurant, Nguyen's imagination was sparked by a chain of toilet-themed restaurant in Taiwan called Modern Toilet Restaurant. The restaurant is not only operational in Taiwan but also has several chains across Asia. According to the owner Dao Ming Zi, the idea of the restaurant came from a Japanese cartoon who loved to play with poop. Ming Zi's chain of restaurants depicts everything associated with a toilet, from miniature urinal-shaped bowls to commode-shaped seats and much more.

Call it their quirky mindset or love for wackiness. Indonesia's Jamban Café is another to join the 'poop' league with cocktails and food served to its customers in latrines. If you plan to visit Russia, head to Crazy Toilet Café in Moscow for a similar experience. But the question at hand really is, are cafes and restaurants like this taking creativity way too far? The idea is far too revolting for a regular appetite. What do you think? Is India ready for a similar experiment? Share with us your comments in the box below.Inputs from PTI
