1st February 2022 marks the beginning of the Chinese New Year. Also referred to as Lunar New Year, it is particularly celebrated in countries within East and Southeast Asia - being influenced by the historical Chinese lunisolar calendar. Every year is represented by a Chinese zodiac animal - and this year marks the beginning of the 'Year of the Tiger'. And like always, New Year brings hopes for a fresh and new start. It seems to be the same for star footballer David Beckham. This Lunar New Year, the 46-year-old international sportsperson tried his hands on a new skill and left his fans and followers in awe. David Beckham had put on chef's hat and tried his hands on cooking. Sounds interesting, isn't it? The footballer, who enjoys 71 million followers on Instagram, took to the photo-sharing app to share a video featuring him cooking up storm in a professional kitchen. Guess who lent out his kitchen for David Beckham's experimentation?! It's none other than Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay. You heard us!

David Beckham shared a video where we could see him cooking sweet-and-sour Mandarin fish for Lunar New Year celebration. In the video, we saw Beckham cutting a fish fillet and deep frying it after dipping in a batter. He then prepared a flavourful sauce in wok and drizzled it on the fish. Finally, with a chopstick he relished the food to the core. That's not all. He also wished his fans a Happy New Year in Mandarin. "Learnt a new dish to celebrate Lunar New Year...Sweet and sour Mandarin Fish...must say I'm quite proud of how it turned out. The video, originally posted on February 1, 2022, has garnered more than three million views and almost 580k views in not even 24 hours. Besides, thousands of fans commented on the video, appreciating David Beckham for his effort. While some wished him 'Happy New Year', others appreciated his effort to speak Mandarin. Others appreciated the dish and said, "Delicious". Even Gordon Ramsay applauded him saying, "Looks delicious".
