The sandwich on Hard Rock Cafe's menu is called 'Messi Chicken Sandwich' and is said to be made by none other than the footballer himself. The sandwich is available at all Hard Rock Cafe outlets and hotels starting July 12. As per a news release, the sandwich is inspired by one of Lionel Messi's favourite dishes - the Milanese or the Milanesa which is a staple in Argentina. Messi said, "I can't wait for my fans all over the world to get a taste of one of my childhood favourites that still makes me feel at home, wherever in the world I am."
The burger by Hard Rock Cafe has incorporated a Milanese-style chicken breast topped with melted provolone cheese, herbed aioli, fresh tomatoes and arugula and enclosed in a toasted artisanal bun. "Made for you by Lionel Messi," reads the tagline of the burger.
"Another dream comes true! I am thrilled to introduce to you the new Messi Chicken Sandwich that I have created with Hard Rock Café, inspired by my favourite food: The Milanese! Don't miss out," wrote Lionel Messi in a post on Instagram.
A number of Messi fans reacted to his new venture as a chef for the café. "Messi kind look like a person that can be a good cook," said one user. "The football LORD is also a Chef! Wow! What can't he do," commented another one.
