A teacher is like the soil that enriches and nourishes a plant. They are the ones to help build our future with utmost care, patience and unconditional love. Today is a day to thank all those who have played a role in the carving out who we are today. It could be anyone, if there's someone who has contributed to making you a better person, that person is your teacher and this very day goes out in their name.Teacher's Day is celebrated as a tribute to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was born on 5th September 1888. Dr. Radhakrishnan, the second president of India, was a great scholar, philosopher, Bharat Ratna recipient and a favourite amongst his students. Since 1962, every year the entire nation commemorates his birthday to pay tribute to all the teachers in the country.From eminent personalities like Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to many others who have helped us with basic lessons in life, Dr. Radhakrishnan's birth anniversary calls for dedicating a day to the countless, endless and selfless efforts of these gurus.
