Researchers at the University of Sydney recently tried to analyse the way junk food brands are using Facebook in order to promote unhealthy foods among young adults and the results were quite obvious. Lately, Facebook has become a marketing and advertising hub for companies to promote their brand and products. Creating a Facebook page takes only few minutes and the social reach is expandable with great ease. According to the study, energy dense, nutrient-poor food (EDNP) brands use Facebook as a digital marketing tool to interact with young adults and promote the use of junk food - which can contribute to obesity and lifestyle diseases.
