India is a treasure trove of recipes, with traditions and cooking methods varying across each region. Thousands of books and memoirs attempt to curate the vast Indian cuisine, but very few of them would be completely exhaustive. There are so many different methods that Indian cooks use to make the same dish, that it is extremely hard to keep track. Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay has been travelling across India for a new television show. On his journey, discovered a new way of grating coconut - with his feet!
The video was shared by National Geographic channel, India on Twitter. The eighty-second clip begins with Gordon Ramsay savouring some spicy Indian food which instantly sets him off coughing. To mellow down the heat factor in the dish, the cook suggests adding a little bit of coconut into the dish. However, the interesting part was how she grated the coconut - with an appliance operated by foot.
She invited Ramsay to try his hand (or should we say, feet) at it. He took some time to come to terms with the task which the cook had made to look so effortless! Gordon Ramsay hilariously called it, "The most awkward yoga pose ever," while the onlookers watched his struggle amid laughs. Ramsay later switched to the sitting position to grate the coconut using the appliance, finally succeeding in his endeavours. Take a look at the video:
