Weddings are said to be one of the biggest milestones of one's life. Tying the knot with the person you love in the presence of family and friends is indeed an occasion to celebrate. And what celebration would be complete without food? From decorative three-tier cakes to scrumptious buffets, Indian weddings especially are all about good food. One cannot even imagine a wedding without food in India! One couple; however, decided to skip serving food to guests at their party. Their story was shared online on Reddit and soon grabbed eyeballs all over the internet. The reason behind this was quite bizarre and sparked a bit of outrage online among Reddit users. Take a look:

Reddit user throwaway_family9525 shared the post on the sub-Reddit called AITA, wherein people often write asking for advice about their life situations. In the post, the 28-year-old narrated the story about her wedding to her 30-year-old fiancé, which was sponsored by their parents so that the couple would remain debt-free.

Everything went off smoothly, but a certain aunt took to Facebook to complain that there was no food at the wedding as the couple wanted to have a guest appearance by Mickey and Minnie Mouse! Yes, you heard that right. The couple spent their entire catering budget on the appearance of the two Disney stars. They claimed to be huge Disney fans and said it was 'important' to the couple's history and marriage. "The cost to have both Minnie and Mickey for a good chunk of time (30 minutes) was almost exactly what our parents allotted for our catering budget, so we scheduled an appearance during our first dance and our wedding photos, forgoing served food (though there were plenty of facilities at the venue where people could eat.)," she wrote.

The Reddit user also said they had already 'warned' wedding guests about the fact that there was food available at the venue even though the couple were not serving food per se. There were also vending machines and other facilities for guests, but the damage was already done.

The shocking revelation by the couple got a flurry of reactions on Reddit and Twitter as well. Some people questioned the exorbitant prices of the appearances of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. "$2750 for a single half-hour appearance???? I'm literally going to Peru for three weeks for the exact same amount," wrote one user. "Imagine not serving food/drink at your wedding so you could instead have two rodent furries show up for photo ops for adults," said another one.
