Biryani is soul food and you don't need a special occasion to savour it. While many people love cooking this rice dish at home, there is a certain section that prefers getting it from outside. But don't you think the whole process of going out, ordering food, and then waiting for your biryani to come is quite tiring? Wouldn't it be great if you could eliminate all these steps and just get your food instantly? Now that everything is going digital, a Chennai-based start-up has tried to make things easier for all the biryani lovers out there. A Chennai-based startup, called Bai Veetu Kalyanam or The BVK Biryani has created a unique unmanned takeaway ordering experience centre in Kolathur. Famous in Chennai, they are known for serving authentic wedding-style biryani cooked using coal and firewood. A video posted on social media featuring the entire process of getting food from this place has grabbed attention. The pop-up shop is equipped with 32-inch screens where customers can quickly scan through their menu, place orders and make payments by scanning QR codes or using cards. All this can be done without any unnecessary interruptions.

In the video, you can see a customer placing an order at the takeaway service. After browsing the digital menu, he pays for the food and taps the “open door” option on the touch screen. He then collects the food box. The food blogger stated, “I got my order within four minutes". According to a report by ANI, BKV Biryani started in 2020. The company's official website mentions, “We use meats, vegetables and classic Basmati rice to bring the taste of biryani the way it was meant to be made." The company promises to offer 60-minute delivery across Chennai. The founder and CEO of the startup, Faheem S stated that they are planning to launch 12 such centres across Chennai. Eventually, they will plan to scale up their operation pan India. BKV's biryanis are priced between ₹ 220 and ₹ 449. Not only this, their menu also includes other delicious treats such as mutton paya, idiyappam, parotta and halwa. Take a look:

Since being shared, the video has received 51K views and more than 3K likes so far. Internet users were not quite impressed with this unique unmanned takeaway ordering experience centre.
