The kitchen is the cornerstone of a house. And, rightfully, it is a garage of a multitude of foods, ingredients, appliances, and tools. Some effervescent foodies figure out ways to use their kitchen tools for a completely different purpose than originally intended. Are you one of them? A Reddit thread asking the same question saw many users responding with their own stories of using some kitchen tools in surprising ways. While most of them are hilarious to read at first, but on second thoughts, we felt we could take tips from them.

Tea Strainer/Sieve
Apart from straining tea, these people got the sieve its own unique purpose in their kitchen. From picking the herb leaves apart from their stems to breaking egg yolks for deviled eggs, who knew the sieve could a multi-purpose tool.
Tongs
You don't have to pull out a stool to pick things placed on top shelves or cabinets in your kitchen. A pair of tongs can do the job just fine.
Pizza Cutter
A cutter is a cutter. Why cut just pizza, when you can cut so many other foods with it - cookies, cakes, sandwich, wafflers and whatnot.
Milk Frother
Did you know that you could mix anything with a milk frother? The froth on top is just an added bonus. These people are making sacues, coffee, scrambled eggs, salad dressing, cocktails and more with the frother.
Egg Slicer
After reading these comments, we are now going to use our egg slicer to cut up strawberries, potatoes, beets, and even cheese!
Cake Pan

Mixer is used almost every day for almost every meal. To blend vegetables or to grind spices. But these guys are also whisking eggs, mashing potatoes and shredding cooked chicken in it.
Pastry Cutter
If you never really cut your pastries with the cutter, you can use it to mash potatoes and chop eggs with it, just like this person does.
Peeler
A peeler can not only peel off the outer layer of a vegetable. These comments tipped us off into using it to cut thin strips of cucumber, cheese, carrot and potatoes too.
Coffee Grinder
Got a coffee grinder at home? Now throw in spices or uncooked rice, herbs or anything you want in powdered form.
Rolling Pin
While we have seen belan being used only for rolling rotis, these inventive foodies are also pounding meat and beating spices with it.
