In this day and age, environmental consciousness has increased manifold among average citizens. Plastic usage is being minimised as stainless steel is emerging as a more sustainable alternative. The reusable and sturdy material has been used in India since times immemorial. From stainless steel cookware to cutlery, glasses to even dabbas - the use of stainless steel has been ubiquitous in Indian kitchens. A Twitter user recently spotted a stainless steel dabba in a store in Europe, and it left everyone feeling immensely nostalgic. Take a look:

The photo of the Dabba in Europe that the Twitter user shared looked exactly like the ones we have here back home. It had multiple compartments and a clip on either side to secure it. Twitter user @madhurarrao wrote in her tweet, "Got bullied in school for bringing lunch in this only to find it being sold in hipster stores in Europe two decades later." Her tweet went viral receiving over 35k likes and 3k retweets.
A flurry of reactions and comments poured into the post. Twitter users began to reminisce about their past and the good old days of their childhood. "The aroma of hot home cooked food that fills the air!! Nostalgia," wrote one user. Another said, "Even today at about 15 years into career I still carry these boxes for lunch."

This is not the only story about dabbas that we have read. Recently, an influencer shared a clip of her father packing leftovers from a restaurant in his own stainless-steel container. She said that this practice helped save on plastic packaging and avoided food wastage.
