About Stuffed Idlis: A healthy udipi breakfast of idli with a stuffing of dal, nuts and vegetables. A light meal to enjoy! These are healthy since they are filled with vegetables and lentils.

Ingredients of Stuffed Idli
- 3 cups rice
- 1 cup urad wash stuffing
- 1 tsp pistachios - blanched
- 1 Tbsp roasted cashew nut
- 1 Tbsp green and red bell peppers - diced
- 1 Tbsp pickle masala
- 1 tsp kasoori methi
- 1 Tbsp carrot - sliced
How to Make Stuffed Idli
1.
Soak rice and urad dal and wet grind to make batter.
2.
Set aside to ferment.
3.
Brush idli tray with oil.
4.
Place ingredients of the stuffing, mixed or separate in the centre of each idli space.
5.
Pour the fermented mixture over the stuffing.
6.
Steam until idlis are cooked.
7.
Serve hot.
Recipe Notes
You can even use a aliy steamer if you have that once the water starts steaming.
