Salam-e-Dilli By Le Meridien Is The Pop-Up You Must Try For Authentic Mughalai Food

Think of Purani Dilli, and you will automatically be reminded of the bustling streets, shops filled with colourful clothes and the aroma of delicious food that completes it all. After all, a visit to this market and indulging in those amazing delicacies is a must! However, if you have been missing out on that taste and crave it from time to time, then Le Meridien's new pop-up restaurant Saalam-e-Dilli brings you those authentic flavours of Purani Dillithat you must try! The pop-up restaurant located on the Longitude bar deck of the hotel has a lively feel with music, a live demonstration by the chefs and welcoming staff with a warm smile!

According to the curator of Saalam-e-Dilli, Mr. Talat Mehmood Khan, he says "I love the food of Purani Dilli and wanted to bring it to a larger platform. Here we have taken care of every masala in every dish to bring out that authentic taste of Mughlai food. And while creating the menu we choose the dishes that are widely loved and eaten."

So, to try out the taste of the food offered by Saalam-e-Dilli we went there to try out their vegetarian menu. Starting with the appetizers, first, we had a melt-in-mouth chaap wrapped in malai, a soft paneer tikka with a perfect balance of charred and lemon flavour and a paneer seekh rich in spices with aerated drinks.

Next, moving on to the main course, there were an array of dishes that would instantly take you back to the Purani Dilli. The main course included salad, raita, a rich dal makhni, paneer changezi filled with butter and masalas, subz biryani loaded with vegetables, and a flavourful mix of vegetable sabzi with the options of khemeeri roti, tandoori roti and plain rice. But if you are a non-vegetarian and love that meaty taste, then for you, the restaurant has ghosht biryani, murgh korma and nihari.

Lastly, to top it all, the desserts included yummy kheer and shahi tukda!
