Do you love Pizzas? Do you salivate at the thought of a hot pizza, topped with your favorite veggies, slivers of meat and lots of cheese? Well, it seems people's love for this Italian dish is limitless. While everybody around the world tries to perfect their pizza by experimenting with different toppings and flavours, a group went ahead and created a exclusive and exotic pizza which turned out to be world's most expensive pizza made till date. How expensive, did you ask? To enjoy this hand crafted dish you would have to shell out, wait for it, a whopping USD $12000 or ₹ 77 lakhs. Yes, like we said, it is the world most expensive pizza! It is called the 'Louis XIII'.

We spoke to one of the three men behind this creation, Chef Renato Viola, a master pizza Chef and amongst Italy's finest cuisine experts. Chef Renato is a proud member of the Italian Acrobatic Pizza Team and is one of the most renowned pizza makers across the globe. He is in the country as part of his tie-up with a Mumbai based restaurant, 1441 Pizzeria, sharing his very vast and valuable culinary knowledge with the restaurant.  A little birdie tells us that under Chef Renato's guidance, the restaurant could be on an expansion drive and there could be more outlets coming up across the city.

Here's what he told us about the world's most expensive pizza- Louis XIII, costing a whopping $12000 and made with some of the most exclusive and rare ingredients you could think of! Designed by Renato Viola for a select few, Louis XIII is every pizza lover's dream come true. A Small pizza with a diameter of 20 cm and is fit for two. It is prepared on site by a catering team comprising of a pizza chef (Renato Viola), a sommelier (a wine-specialist) and another chef who cooks all the ingredients before putting it on the pizza. The pizza which is served with limited edition cutlery is also paired with a cognac that best complements its exotic toppings and flavours. Chef Viola tells us that "most of the ingredients were sourced from France and Italy".  A generous spread of Mozarella di bufala, cheese made out of the milk collected from domestic Italian buffaloes gives the pizza its signature moist, chewy and cheesy touch. "The most exclusive ingredients which were also the most expensive were the lobsters which was prepared and flamed with cognac", he notes. Other exotic toppings that go into making the most expensive pizza are three types of exotic caviars, Mediterranean species of Shrimp and the Australian pink salt handpicked from river Murray.
